National: 19th, November 2024: In a landmark move to strengthen Regional energy security and support the clean energy transition, Tata Power Company Ltd (Tata Power), one of India’s largest integrated power companies, has entered into a strategic partnership with Druk Green Power Corporation Ltd (DGPC), a subsidiary of Druk Holding and Investments Limited, sole generation utility of Bhutan, to collaborate and develop at least 5,000 MW of clean energy generation capacity in Bhutan.What is a solar project in Bhutan?Project Goals and Approach to Transformational Change: The project aims to install 30 MW of solar PV and strengthen the regulatory environment to accelerate Bhutan’s renewable energy market, fully realising its solar energy plan of 1000 MW as planned by the government in the current five-year plan (2024-2028).
